Yemen Trade, Business, and Commerce

Yemen is located in the Middle East, in the Arabian peninsula with the biggest population in the region, and the second largest in area. It is a potential market, and a good commercial partner. Sana'a is the Capital and the most important commercial center. All banks, insurance companies, and air lines head offices are located in Sana'a, with branch offices in all major cities of Yemen.

There is a good market for a lot of imported goods in Yemen. Main exported items are petroleum oil, fishes, fruits, vegetables, other agricultural products, food industry products, and some light industrial products.

Major sea ports are located in Hodeidah, Mokha, Aden, Saleef, and Mukalla. Air cargo facilities are available in Sana'a, Aden, Taiz, Hodeidah, and Mukalla.

In march 1999 the new container station was operative. The station is now  a vital transit center in the region, and many nearby countries are benefited from the service. The free zone project of Aden is underway. It is intended to contain both commercial, and industrial sectors. The government is encouraging investments. There are a lot of benefits investing in Yemen such as liberal investment laws, tax free, low wages, good local market, and strategic commercial location.
